I’m on the road! (Here’s where the adventure begins).

This week was very interesting. We started understanding the norms and requirements of the course. We  received guidance  from our teacher and tips about how to be more efficient teachers. We read and analysed an article named:  “Being teachers” , that in my opinion was very punctual and useful. The author explained some aspects that we as teachers should take into consideration; like the  qualities and skills a good teacher should poses , his  role  inside and outside the classroom, and  what is expected from a teacher  when he is not teaching. This was a very good start for me, because I was wondering many things about this course and about me as a teacher, mostly because I don’t consider myself —at this point— an outstanding teacher. Finally, we also were asked to read chapter 8 from the  Currículo Nacional Básico  (CNB), which exposed the  norms and guidelines  about the evaluation process that teachers and institutions ...

Porqué decidí convertirme en maestro

Los maestros han influido en mi vida de todas las formas y maneras. Algunos de ellos me guían e incluso caminan a mi lado para ayudarme a aprender cosas nuevas. At the age of 7 I was thinking on becoming a firefighter or a policeman, I was aiming to be the one who could save the day, whether it be chasing bad guys or saving houses and forests from fires. Just one thought crossed my mind in those days: I wanted to be the hero. Later, I learned about that kind of heroes, and all the difficulties they have to face in daily life, and I stopped planning to be a policeman or a firefighter and facing the same problems as they did. That was not too bad; I had parents that cheered me up in moments like those, and they used to inspire me to look for another aspiration. Thoughts went and came around my head without ...
